Chapter E5- Sir Isaac Newton, Our (Almost) Direct Ancestor
A biography highlighting the fantastic story of Sir Isaac Newton. How some of Spencer Chamberlain’s family are direct descendants of Richard Newton who came to America in 1639. Richard Newton born in England in 1609 is the uncle of Sir Isaac Newton
Chapter E6- Sir Isaac Newton: the Athanasian Creed and Bible Prophecy. Isaac Newton believed that the Christian Church doctrine had been corrupted. As a result, this “Apostasy” would continue until just before the 7th trumpet and second coming of Christ. At that time, Newton believed, there would be a universal teaching of the truth through out the world.
Chapter E7- The Legend of the Rifle and the Old Clock. There are two versions of a story in Spencer Chamberlain family history of a wife who melted down the lead weights of the family clock and ran theme into bullets.
Chpater E8- Rebecca Chamberlain, the Puzzle of Sarah Shelley’s Will. The Chamberlain Story analyses Sarah Shelley’s will to determine the most likely maiden name of Rebecca Chamberlain. Is it Addington or Shelley?
Chapter E9- John Chamberlain’s Family Identified in 1870 Print. An 1870 steel engraved print titled “From Shore to Shore”, recently donated to the Hartland Historical Society, came with a bonus. It contained an intriguing clue suggesting the artist’s subjects were in real life the John Chamberlain family of Westmoreland, New Hampshire.
Chapter E10- A Review of Spencer Chamberlain’s Family This chapter was written to encourage feedback and sharing on my smaller audience stories. One person shared one of my stories with a Facebook group. Chapter 21- John Harry Chamberlain, Pioneer Life on the Prairie then jumped from 16 views in 2020, to 296 views in 2021.
Chapter E11- Dad’s Hope for Our Best Christmas Ever When I wrote about our family in 1942 during World War 2, I realized it contained a real family Christmas story. So I edited it down from 8500 words to 3500 words. I remember the magical Christmas of 1945 and wanted to write about it. However, I now realize the story happened in 1942.
Chapter E12- Israel Proctor and the Murder of Thomas Chamberlain Thomas Chamberlain was murdered on May 11, 1709. The circumstances of this crime were unknown in the modern age until FamilySearch filmed the court records in 1972. More recently, the perpetrator was exposed and graphic details of this event revealed when introduced on the world wide web.

Chapter E16- Lt. Ernest M. Chamberlain, Officer of the Guard The stories of my father, Lieutenant Ernest M. Chamberlain, as Officer of the Guard tells us a lot about him. He was very serious about his work and put his whole heart into every project in which he was involved. Nevertheless, things didn’t always go as planned. When he told me these stories about his Guard Duty experience many years after the war, he broke into uncontrollable laughter.
Chapter E17- Defending the Spencer Chamberlain Family Legacy This is how and why I wrote my book Run Chamberlain, Run- Solving the 200-year-Old Mystery of Runaway Pond. It is much more than a story about a flood. It is an incredible interaction between six generations of the Chamberlain/Phillips family to correct a mistake and defend the truth. Four months to solve a mystery debated for over 100 years, write, and publish a book. Could I do it? Then I missed my flight! How could I make it to the bicentennial in time? Amazing coincidences? Or, was someone helping me?

Chapter E19- Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, Path to Little Round Top On July 2,1863, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, found himself on a hill in Gettysburg, called “Little Round Top”. His orders were to hold his position at all cost. Out numbered and out of ammunition, they could not withstand another assault. They had to strike first. Colonel Chamberlain gave the order to his 20th Maine in one word. “Bayonet!!!”
